“I live in Vancouver and these god damn 2010 winter games are the worst thing for the lower-middle class people of our city.

The government has taken funding from services and already under funded projects to give to the olympics. The one that hit closest to home was with my friend who is in early childhood education. They took the 500k used for aiding children who have lived through traumatic experiences and gave it all to the olmpics.

The government cut jobs and laid off several hundred employees to be able to -buy tickets to the games for government officials-.

The cost of living has gone up due to rich people from other countries coming to watch the games.”
